Will you stop? Wing Stop Review

We decided to try Wing Stop’s buffalo wings plus some other more for our dinner. The store is dressed in red (with black) from furniture to their logo back ground.

In fairness our nachos is ready on less than 10 minutes.

Nachos – topped with fresh tomatoes, cabbage, onions and cheddar cheese. The nachos itself has cheese powder on it. Imagine Mr. Chips.

Cheese Sticks – cheddar cheese wrapped in lumpia wrapper.

Mashed Potato – Anne’s personal favorite.  She found it weird in taste. For me I think the gravy was not good. It seemed burnt thus produced smoky taste.

Wings in a Bucket 10 Pcs - Enough for the appetizer. Now, it’s time to try their version of Buffalo wings.  The chicken lacks flavor.   I think it could have been better if the sauce is much thicker so the chicken can absorb it more. The good thing is that the selection of chicken part was good just enough to fill our stomach for our dinner.

Dining Redefined: Zong Review

Zong offers different Asian cuisine. They offer mix of Chinese, Singaporean, Malaysian, Hong Kong and Filipino dishes. Most of our orders were from Zong’s favorite menu.

The store has a calm ambiance. Simple yet stylish

I just want to commend their fast service. The waiter was very accommodating and gladly assists us with our questions. We waited for less than 10 minutes for our order. 5/5 for their service! Specially for hungry people like us =)

Caramelized Pork Loin – the pork itself was very flavorful. It blended well with the sauce. Ops the pork is definitely not crunchy since it is served with sauce.

We got positive feedback from Zong Favorite’s Chicken in Salted Egg Yolk. Imagine fried chicken coated with salted egg yolk. Sounds salty, but it’s not. Two thumbs up for this one.  Crunchy and tasty to the last bone. This is my most recommended amongst our order.
Chicken in Salted Egg Yolk 438 Php
Steamed Fish Fillet with Soy Sauce – this is our last order. Filleted Dory with shitake mushrooms and steamed broccoli in soy sauce. The fish was fresh. The sauce has the right amount of saltiness which adds flavor to the fish. I also love the shitake mushrooms.

Zong Menu:

Overall, my first Zong experience was very nice. The food was great plus as mentioned earlier the good service. Though, their menu is a bit pricey even for 2-3 persons. Given this I still recommend Zong for a good dining experience.

Let's do the twist: Cane Twist Review

Sugar cane reminds me of my childhood. Those were the days when vacant lots in our subdivision are filled with crops such as tomatoes, eggplant and other root crops. Tubo (pronounced as tubó) as we call it in tagalong is also abundant. We would ask older folks to get us some stalk and we’ll surely enjoy them.

For the past years lot of ‘healthy’ foods and beverage are introduced to the market. No wonder why Sugar cane juice food carts/stalls are now visible to malls.

Cane Twist located at SM Megamall Ground Floor.

They offer freshly squeezed juice in a bottle or in a plastic cup. I go for the small glass. This is so refreshing! Best served chilled or topped with ice.

For me the juice from suckled sugar cane stalk is much sweeter than the squeezed version.

From my research here are some Health Benefits from Sugar Cane Juice
1. Lessen Risk of Diabetes
2. Wound Healing
3. Fight Off the Common Cold and Flu
4. Organ Strength
5. Beat the Heat with Sugarcane Juice

Overall, I give Cane Twist a 5 for its health benefits and its price :)

So Good, So Sweet: Goodies 'n Sweets Review

I was reading a book called Guide to Restaurants in Manila when I read that one of the featured Chef – Aileen Anastacio owns this bakeshop-cafe. It made me excited so visit this store. I wonder how a Chef designs and formulate her own recipe. Ofcourse a part of it is my high expectation.

It was already past 8 PM when me and Inggo arrived. My original plan is just to have plain dessert and coffee. But since we haven’t had our dinner we decided to order something aside from cake. Luckily, they also offer Rice Meals, Pasta and Sandwiches.

Our Order:

Pasta Mozzarella (230 pesos) – Spaghettini with tomato cream sauce with basil and olives topped with cubed mozzarella cheese. The sauce was very flavorful and delicious. The mozzarella in cube form was chewy and blended well with the pasta. I was expecting more from the dessert. But I can t help but to say nothing but the best about this pasta. No doubt that this is one of the best pasta I’ve tasted.  Worth it for it's price
Pasta Mozzarella
my verdict: Terrific! Superb! 5/5

I ended texting our friends saying that we should set a date to have a taste of this pasta.

For our second round of pasta (yes we ordered another one), we asked the manager for their best seller. She recommended Tuna & Capers and Pesto Pasta. We didn’t try any of those. Instead we go for what we think is good.

Crab Aligue (235 pesos) – true to our instinct the pasta is also good. You will surely taste the aligue on every inch of the pasta. Ops I don’t recommended this for people with hypertension please be careful. =) The pasta was rich in flavor and saucy. Technically it is a bit salty due to the main ingredient. I noticed that the serving is quite bigger compared to our 1st order. 4/5
Crab Aligue
Now, let’s go to the main event. Dessert.

Carrot Cake (135 pesos/slice) – I don’t eat carrot cake that much but I love this cake from the 1st till the last bite.  The outer cover is a combination of sweet and salty cream. So Yummy! The cake is infused with walnuts and you will see tiny shredded carrots on it. So perfect! 5/5
Carrot Cake
Toblerone Mousse – this is heaven! It was made from layers of white and thin layers of chocolate mousse. 4/5

Turtle Pie (135 Pesos)I am not fan of chocolate cakes or brownies. But to me this is one is very likable. It has the right amount of sweetness 3/5

Wait there’s more. They also sell salad dressings, cookies and lengua de gato good for pasalubong.

 Goodies 'n Sweets Menu:

Obviously I was impressed by their pastas and cakes. I would definitely invite friends to visit Goodies 'n Sweets. On my next visit I would definitely try their Tuna & Capers pasta and Tiramisu plus another order of carrot cake.
